炒合桃
炒粟子吃得多,炒合桃便少見了。昨晚在豉油街行人隧道(旺角商務印書館旁的隧道),創興廣場那邊出口的炒粟子檔看見竟有炒合桃賣,便馬上買了半磅。雖然這個炒粟子檔常在這裏開檔,但也不常賣炒合桃,所以看見有售便馬上買來吃。炒合桃比炒粟子貴,炒栗子每磅約$20,但炒合桃要$14一磅,而且合桃殼比粟子殼厚得多,合桃肉又小,所以價格應約貴1陪。:下:
炒合桃最煩的是很難打開合桃殼,難以在街上吃。買過後問老闆怎樣開,他笑說叫我要手機去「敲」,當我是傻的嗎?我可不想吃全球最貴的合桃啊!合桃檔的阿婆教了我1個容易開合桃的方法:把2個大小差不多的合桃上下放在一起,放合桃的方向要一樣,再以單手用力壓,那合桃殼便會打開。不過,我想這方法也只適合用在炒過的合桃上,因為炒過的合桃殼比較脆,容易壓碎。
炒合桃沒有炒粟子好吃,可能殼太厚,以至糖味炒不到進合桃肉內,但比炒粟子脆和香口,我認為更好吃。
